Our Story

Hello Friends,
If you are reading this communication, I would like to thank you...as well as ask you to partner with me in prayer regarding a calling on my heart/my life...and something I strongly believe is a significant movement of God’s redemptive plan for overcoming evil with good. Not a temporary EVENT….but a permanent ADVENT described below in the mission expression.

Knowing me, you are likely already aware I previously answered God's call and have invested a significant part of my life, alongside my wife Teresa (AKA: Momma T), loving, teaching, discipling and shepherding young people for Jesus Christ. Therefore, I am convinced the many experiences God has provided along my life’s journey, have significantly contributed to my sensing His call on the remainder of my life. Let me explain. Approximately 15 years ago, I began sensing and believing I would one day be led to open and manage a quality music venue that would shape the hearts of this generation of youth for Jesus Christ. A venue where songs, stories, and mission opportunities would constantly REMIND our youth…there is so much more to this life than what they have yet to understand. Also, for those of you who may not be aware, I concluded a 33 year career in the field of Criminal Justice in September 2009, and for the next year, drove a touring bus for the rock band, “Fireflight.” For the past 20 months, I have resumed my God gifted passion of loving, teaching, discipling, and shepherding young people, and have intentionally not committed to any other time or energy consuming labor so that I might provide God’s Holy Spirit the opportunity to confirm or deny this sensing and calling. After considerable prayer, fasting, and discernment I am convinced that I am being led to move forward with the venue. Furthermore, over the years, the vision for the venue has evolved and now includes the following “current” venue mission expression…

“A Soul Environment, where Redemption Songs, Stories, & Mission Focused Relationships form the ideas and images that shape the hearts of this generation of Jesus followers, inspiring The Great Reversal in our community and culture.”

American Poet Allen Ginsburg said, “Whoever controls the media, the images; controls the culture.”

Martin Luther said, “Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.”

Rick Warren said, “If you’re serious about changing culture, start with music. Its power is unequalled. That’s why I mentor musicians.”

Albert Einstein said, “If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music. I get most joy in life out of music.”

Plato said, “If I can write the songs of the nations, I don't care who writes the laws. Education in music is most sovereign because more than anything else rhythm and harmony find their way to the innermost soul and take strongest hold upon it.”

God said, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16 (NIV)…and…Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:19-20 (NIV)

For those wondering…the name I’m confident I’ve been led to identify the venue with is “House of Eli,” and came into being after I wrote a short lesson curriculum approximately 12 years ago titled “Code Eli.” Eli in the Holy Scriptures has a number of meanings…including “Jehovah Is High;” however, the meaning I desire to convey originates from a challenge for me and those who claim to follow Jesus to E-ENLIST, L-LEARN, and I-INVADE, and precisely outlines the story (journey...adventure...battle), and victory of an authentic follower of Jesus. The Bible passage that will inspire, motivate, and equip this ministry is Colossians 2:1-4, which refers to “A” MYSTERY which has been REVEALED but has yet to be fully RECEIVED, UNDERSTOOD, APPLIED AND MULTIPLIED by many…that HOLY MYSTERY being JESUS CHRIST.

In closing…the real point of this communication is to ask if you would consider praying regularly for all aspects of this ministry with me, such as: provision, location, leadership, quality, staff, vision, mission, effectiveness, etc. I stand solid on the belief that our actions done in the Holy Name of Jesus, are of infinite and eternal value. Dallas Willard said, “You believe something when you act as if you do.” Therefore, I strongly believe we should with intentionality set aside a day of the week and a time within the chosen day to “act,” to pray about this movement of Holy Love, so that we might all be praying at least once a week at the same time even though we are in different locations. So…I would like to propose we pray every Monday from 6:30 PM-7:00 PM. To some of you, 30 minutes a week may seem like a lengthy period of time; however, I am confident you will be pleasantly surprised if you purpose in your heart to “willingly” give/devote/set aside a block of time to dialogue with God about the young hearts of this generation. If you experience difficulty regarding what to pray about…or for that matter anything else regarding this ministry…please contact me so we can discuss the many facets of what I believe is a vital movement of God’s hands and feet in this generation.
